As mentioned in previous posts, this was supposed to be a The Wonderful Wizard of Oz painting, but it got scrapped due to being crappy. I'm re-working it, and it'll be the next illustration I post. But in the mean time, I had this new Potter-Painting all drawn out ready to be painted, so I went ahead and did it.
If you'll allow me a moment to gush a little, I'm very happy with this painting. I struggle with drawing structural stuff, I prefer organic things like people, animals and plants. So I was a little intimidated when I decided I needed to make the focus of this painting be the Weasley's home; the chapter is named "The Burrow" after all, it just seemed like the thing to do. Fortunately for me, the Burrow doesn't follow the laws of gravity or structural accuracy, but I still had to make sure it looked right. And over all, I think it meets the requirements.
I think my biggest disappointment is that because Molly is so far away, some of the details from the original drawing got lost. Unfortunate, but it all still came together pretty well. Anyway, here is the illustration for the third chapter of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets as well as the vignette drawings that go with it.
